Meet The Team
Dr Veronica McBurnie
MBChB (Glasgow) , MRCGP , DFFP , LFHom(Med)
Clinical Director, Founder, Family GP & Specialist in Integrative Medicine
I’ve always believed that truly effective healthcare must go beyond symptom management—it should empower people to reconnect with their bodies, understand their emotional wellbeing, and feel supported as a whole person. My own professional and personal journey has reinforced this again and again, and it led me to create a space where integrative, person-centred care could flourish. That vision became Westbourne Medical Studios.
Westbourne was born out of the desire to blend the best of conventional and holistic approaches under one nurturing roof. From tranquil, professional clinical rooms to a creative arts studio, a family kitchen for nutrition education, and a meditation garden, every part of Westbourne has been designed with healing and balance in mind.
As a private GP, I’m proud to offer bespoke consultations tailored to your physical, emotional, and energetic needs. Whether you're visiting for a general appointment, integrative medicine, or something more specialised, my goal is to support you with care that is thoughtful, evidence-informed, and deeply compassionate.
In addition to GP services, I have a particular interest in Voice Analysis and Frequency Medicine, as well as emotional healing techniques that work with the body's energy systems. My clinical work is also closely tied to my passions—meditation, singing, and sound therapies—all of which I use to help patients reconnect with their own voice, both literally and metaphorically.
I look forward to welcoming you to Westbourne Medical Studios and supporting your journey towards vibrant, whole-person wellbeing.

Meet The Team
Diane O’Hara
Nurse Consultant
My name is Diane O’Hara, and I’m an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with over 28 years of experience in healthcare. I began my nursing journey at the age of 17 as an auxiliary nurse, and I’ve continued to build on that foundation through study, hands-on experience, and a deep passion for patient care.
Today, I work as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Prescriber, which allows me to assess, diagnose, and treat patients autonomously in clinic. My role is wonderfully varied—I cover triage, minor injury and illness, sexual and reproductive health, respiratory care, vaccinations, hypertension, and general health and wellbeing. I’m also passionate about health promotion and supporting patients in making informed, empowering choices about their care.
Throughout my career, I’ve remained committed to ongoing learning, keeping my knowledge up to date so I can offer safe, effective, evidence-based care to every person I see. I take pride in creating a welcoming, supportive environment where patients feel heard and respected.
Outside of work, I’m happiest when spending time with my family, especially on long walks by the beach. I love to travel—Dubai has been a standout so far—and I have a real passion for photography, particularly capturing landmarks, historical buildings, and the beauty of the Scottish countryside.
I’m also a big coffee lover and a keen baker, so when I’m not socialising with friends, you’ll often find me in the kitchen perfecting a cake!
I look forward to welcoming you to Westbourne and supporting your health and wellbeing with care and compassion.

Dr Karen J Hogg
MD FRCP (Glas)
Consultant Cardiologist
I’m a Consultant Cardiologist with a special interest in heart failure and the provision of supportive and palliative care for people living with cardiac disease. My career has been shaped by a deep commitment to patient-centred care—supporting individuals and their families with compassion, clarity, and evidence-based expertise.
I trained in Glasgow and graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1999, before being awarded a British Heart Foundation junior fellowship. My research focused on heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, and I was awarded my MD in 2002. I went on to sub-specialise in cardiology, training in hospitals across the West of Scotland before taking up my consultant post at Glasgow Royal Infirmary in 2010.
Alongside my clinical role, I’ve worked closely with the British Heart Foundation and Marie Curie to establish The Caring Together Programme—an initiative dedicated to improving palliative and supportive care for patients living with heart failure. I’m also proud to serve as the Clinical Lead for Cardiology at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Chair of the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Heart Failure Managed Clinical Network. I continue my academic work as an Associate Professor at the University of Glasgow, where I lead clinical projects aimed at improving the experience of care for those with cardiac conditions.
At Westbourne Medical Studios, I’m delighted to offer consultations for a wide range of cardiac issues, including chest pain, hypertension, heart failure, palpitations, arrhythmias (such as atrial fibrillation), valvular heart disease, and heart murmurs. My approach is always to provide clear explanations, individualised treatment, and respectful, patient-focused care.
